Christine Tennent was born in Derby and from an early age was an avid reader and writer of stories and poetry, usually involving animals. She studied English and History at Leeds University and worked for a time as an English teacher. For a number of years she was Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Open University, where she had responsibilities for developing staffing policies and for staff equality and diversity issues.

Christine now lives in Milton Keynes where she concentrates on her writing. She is wholeheartedly committed to writing stories that catch the imagination of young readers through bizarre adventures laced with humour. She has also had several successes with short stories for adults, winning the 2014 H E Bates and the 2015 Curry Mallet short story competitions.

Horace Burp, Lizard Boy Hero is the second book in the dyslexia-friendly Horace Burp series.

The first book, Horace Burp, Lizard Boy, was a bronze award winner in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards for children aged 6-8 years. The Horace Burp series is the outcome of a special collaboration between Christine and her son-in-law Rob Overend, who illustrates the books.
